Commissioning new works has become a mission of Driscoll’s. In the spring of 2015 he premiered two new works for trombone and piano and one for unaccompanied trombone. Other new music projects include Durward Ensemble that has commissioned fifteen composers to write for this unique ensemble of instruments. In December 2018, Durward released its first recording, “Daughters of Earth: new music of women composers.” This recording can be found on any digital platform such as iTunes and many more. Driscoll enjoys being a part of the creative process from the onset and allowing lesser known composers to be heard in various concert settings.
